Stampin' Up

This is a new Stampin' Up flower stamp that a friend and I recently purchased.  Have used the new Tim Holtz distress inks (Summer) love these colours.....

Sunflowers

Am really into sunflowers at the moment..... - have used a technique I saw on YouTube, and love it....

Think that the black and white sunflower stamped images in the background are fab...... - think that this will be a well used stamp.

Am struggling a little with sentiments at the mo, and have made a few cards without putting the sentiment on, as not sure who or what occasion it will be used for.

Another month passes

Another month has passed by without me uploading a post of some of the cards I have made..... But here comes a few recent creations.

Am enjoying 'playing' with my inks at the mo, and have no idea how it is all going to turn out..... did this fab blue and green background, and used various flower type stamps, and of course had to sneek in a a small butterfly.

Bleach!!

Yesterday went along to the Lovin'Ink Class with Janet & Michelle, and had a fab time trying out bleaching....

Have a look at the effect.... the thing with bleaching is you never know how it is going to go in so much different coloured paper, thickness, quality all have varying effects.

I matt and layered this into a simple card this morning.

A simple card

Continuing my theme of blue - really don't know where that came from....

Another simple, straightforward card....

Of course a butterfly and a few gems have to make an appearance!  Have a good weekend everyone....

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

I used photo paper to make the background with distress ink and water.  I then used Stampin' Up stamps and ink to make the background, a few gems and butterflies and here we have another birthday card.

Bank Holiday

Busy weekend making cards - this is a lili of the valley stamp using some of my new papers I purchased at the weekend.  Pink and orange, not normally two of my 'natural' colours.

Take a peek -

Simple Card

A simple design using Stampin' Up Stamps.

Finished off with a few gems from my stash..

Updates - recent cards

Whilst I may not have been online much, I have been working away on some cards, - take a look

I love the Dandelions, and this is a Hero Arts stamp, where I embossed the dandelions, and used stickles to brighten up the heads, and a gem in each of the centres.  I lightly coloured the ribbon with a promarker, and used Papermania papers.

This next one......

is just a quick card using distress inks for the background and a Stampin' Up flower design, as is the 'celebrate stamp'.  Few gems, and voila - a quick card!

June's entry into the Skipton Craft Challenge

I have a busy month ahead of me, so thought that I would make good use of a bank holiday Monday and complete the June challenge which was to be patriotic, either in colour or to include in design such as crowns ect.

Have a look at my entry - am the first to complete this month, which makes a change as I am normally one of the last!!

A lilli of the valley stamp - making tea which I thought was quick patriotic as well.  Papers from Craft work cards sale at the weekend.  Ribbon I bought on Clitheroe market (the one day that we worked there!!) and the gems from my stash.  Have not put a greeting on it yet, as have a couple of possible options so will keep it open for now.

Other entries should be uploaded soon, - take a look.

May's Skipton Monthly Craft Challenge

I forgot to post this last month.  On facebook I am part of a monthly challenge, and this was entry for May.  We had to use swirls, flowers and gems -

The winner is drawn randomly, - and it was my sparring buddy Pam Miller.  Watch this space for June's entry which is to do with red, white or blue - patriotic theme.

June's Post

It's June already..... and I have not posted for weeks, - no surprise there!!  I have been crafting - and will be busily taking pictures of my work to upload, so as always.... watch this space!!

Well another card from me.  I used the Dandelion stamp from Inkylicious from the background papers I made one day when I was playing.  I have put a similiar card up before, but really like the effect, so have done a few variations for forthcoming birthdays.

I have used a white gel pen to highlight some parts of the dandelion, and to create an outline around the edge.

Well finally finished up a couple of cards for a few birthdays coming up over the next couple of week....

I used the Waltzing Mouse Dollies stamp set, with stampin up inks, and randomly stamped on the page.  Used some bling from my stash and greetings again from stampin up.  I am enjoying this stamp set, - it will be definitely coming out again soon.

A quick card.....

Picture is a bit wonky, - I will never make a David Bailey...!

I used the rest of the background paper from the craft class last week to make this quick birthday card.  The stamp I purchased on Ebay, and the swirls are from Inkainkado - I picked these up in Las Vegas on my last trip.  Used some stickles and some black diamonds to finish it off.  Inside the card the remainder of the saying say - eat cake!

Off to finish my entry into the first Skipton Craft Club challenge, entries so far have been very good.....

Have a good weekend everyone!

Easter Weekend

We had a quiet weekend what with Steven being full of a cold.... so I was busy crafting.  Have made a couple of cards, as I have lots of Birthdays coming up and I need to be prepared.

The first card I made was a Dandelion Card, - have to say that this is not my original idea - this came from Michelle at our craft class on Friday, where we made our own papers and generally got very messy.

Its hard to see from the picture but after embossing the dandelion (from Inkylicious) I did use some stickles to accentuate the dandelion.  I added some purple gems, 2 tone coloured my ribbon (green and purple not sure thats clear on my piccie) and added a lovely lime green heart button - this is from my stash on a recent visit to Thailand.

Second card is from Lili of the Valley, - I do like this stamp.  Used my promarker blender on this card quite a bit, still have a lot to learn but starting to like the outcome.

I dry embossed my card, and just added some raindrop gems to highlight some of the background, Happy Birthday Stamp from Stampin Up and away you go.

Have a good Bank Holiday everyone!!

Birthday card......

Shock horror............. two posts in one day.

I tried heat embossing again recently, and really enjoyed it, so think I will give it another go again soon.....

I heat embossed this beautiful dandelion with silver embossing powder, and then created little 'blob's (technical term!) with the Stickles to make it shine even more.  I used a die - Exotic Butterflies #2 for the butterfly, added just a few gems and coloured some ribbon with promarkers.  I wanted to keep it quite simply... see what you think

Brown Paper Bag Card

I finished this card last weekend, but have struggled to upload it to the Skipton Craft Club Facebook page, so will upload the pictures here instead. Made this fab card with the girls - using a brown paper bag as our 'card'. Janet loves Molly Bloom Stamps so I used this as my base. I do like these stamps - they have a proper face, for me better than Magnolia's, - though do undertand why they do not have all their facial features (explanation provided by Janet). Lots going on, and I did enjoy putting it all together after all the cutting out, which I don't seem to have done for ages.... Here, - see what you think... Thanks for stopping by.

Friday, 23 March 2012

Ooooh its been a while, but my excuse is that I have been away on holiday. I have been making cards, but just not got around to uploading them, - am going to have a bit of a session soon. Just a quick post with a card I made yesterday for a friends birthday at the weekend, we are off out for dinner tonight so thought I best get organised.... Stamps are from Stampin Up - I do enjoy the double stamp technique. Ribbon is from stash, coloured with a promarker, and the greeting is from Personal Impressions. The butterfly is a a die called Exotic Butterfly bought from Pink Frog Crafts and Cards, - I do struggle a little with the butterfly dies - I have to run them through the cuttlebug several times before all elements are fully cut.... Will keep at it!! Have a good day everyone - off to a Lovin' Ink Class shortly......

StampSmith Stamps

A couple of cards I made at the Lovin Ink http://lovininkshop.blogspot.com/ Class late last year, and have just remembered to upload and share them!!! The stamps are StampSmith Stamps, which give such a lovely oldy worldly look, they almost look like very old photographs
- very different to my normal style, however this is one of the fab things about Janet http://thisandthatwithclarkyj.blogspot.com/ and Michelle's http://midnight-crafter.blogspot.com/ classes.

Playing on a Monday

Made a quick card on Monday from some of my purchases at the craft show on Sunday, plus it was a great escape for a bit with all thats going on at the mo. The stamp is from Chloe's Creative Cards, and I also used a glittery embossing powder. I then jazzed it up a bit with some Silver Stickles from Ranger and a couple of diamonds from my stash - and this is the result. Am pleased with my first attempt - now need to have more of a play...

Craft Fair

Went along to the Ross Papercraft show today at Leeds Grammer School - it was really good.  Only £2 to get in, about 30 suppliers there, and the nice thing about it was, it was not too busy, so you could easily spend time at each stall having a good look around without being pushed and shoved around like you do at some shows I attend.  It was there first event in Leeds, but hopefully not the last.  http://www.rosspapercraftshows.co.uk/

For some reason some of my pictures did not download yesterday, so have included a couple more of my cat Olivers Card to Steven......

And there's more.........

These are some cards I made late last year for Steven's Birthday and also his Christmas Card.  As you can see I am still playing with different card designs - I really think that this can make quite a simply card look really different and intriguing.  The cat card was made by Oliver our cat (he is very clever you know)  The flower/wheel type card was made from myself, there are lots of sayings on the petals which I have layered, wanted to keep it simple and meaningful.  The last card is my Christmas Card to Steven, the picture is not so clear, so will look at doing some more tomorrow to show the side detail ect.

A few birthday cards

Well I am trying to keep to my New Years Resolution... and have posted a couple of my recent creations for forthcoming birthdays.
This card is a stamp from Leanne Ellis.  I have used distress inks as a background, and stamped the image on top.  I have used glossy accents for some of the bubbles, and pro-markers to colour.  I have also used one of my favourite punches from EK Success - Swiss Cheese.  The bow and patterned paper are from papermania completes the look.  I really like the shades of blues and purples....

The card below is a Valentines Card for you know who know.....  This is a Penny Black stamped image.  I decided on a different card style, though not too sure how clear it is from these pictures.

I can't remember the name of the card style, but as I am addicted to watching YouTube videos at the moment, it's hard to track it down.  Papers are from Papermania and gems are from my stash - probably from Thailand.  Wanted to keep it simple.......

And, then lastly.......

another Birthday Card.  This time using a Sugar Nellie stamp.  I cut out the imagine and popped on the border punch, so it looks like she is sat on it.  Coloured my image with ProMarkers, and used my stash for the decoration, again flowers from Thailand, - finally putting them to good use.

Well thats it for now, hopefully will not leave it too long before the next post.

New Year

Well we are almost half way through January - can you believe it. Am going to try real hard to post more regularly. I do make some creations, but generally when its someones birthday or special occasion, and the card is written and sealed before I remember about taking a piccie.

So all I can say, is watch this space. I am also going to try and devote some time to making my blog a bit more flash, - when blog hopping I see some fantastic blog designs, and do wonder how I can update mine.... so here's to some Alison's Attempts - watch this blog!!!!
